Shifting demographics in South Dakota pose a significant threat for the future of livestock producers, an agricultural advocate said Wednesday at a Rapid City Chamber of Commerce event.
Steve Dick, executive director of the South Dakota group Ag United, said as more people leave the farm they lose their connection to the land and the rural lifestyle.
