South Dakota Public Television recently re-aired "Farm Crisis" a documentary that tells the story of the financial disaster that affected most of South Dakota's farmers in the 1980s. I must have missed the documentary at the time of its original airing, but I really enjoyed this film. While certainly not a "feel good" story, it provides a good look into the causes and effects of the Farm Crisis, and perhaps some guidance on the growth of farm businesses looking into the future.
Keep an eye on your channel guide for re-airings of "Farm Crisis" on SDPTV, they've been playing it quite a bit lately. Or, you can also watch the documentary online.
