South Dakota Highway Safety Campaign Kicks Off

The South Dakota Highway Patrol will kick off its summer long safety initiative "Obey the Sign and Avoid the Fine," with extra patrols throughout South Dakota.

The program is designed to reduce the number of fatal accidents by focusing their efforts focusing their efforts on speeding and alcohol-related violations, according to a news release. The highway patrol believes that focus will have the largest impact on reducing fatal crashes, the release stated.
