Paperless Change Gives More Access to Court System

The state of South Dakota reached a milestone in its effort to modernize its antiquated court management system this month when West River clerks began scanning and saving paper court records into a statewide database.

The counties in the 4th and 7th judicial circuits were the last in the state to make the conversion to the state’s new Odyssey software system, which promises to shepherd in a new, paperless era of electronic record-keeping.
