South Dakota Legislature To Study Industrial Hemp, Meth Epidemic This Year

The Legislature plans to be ready to discuss industrial hemp by next year's session after Gov. Kristi Noem said the state wasn't ready this year.

 

Legislators voted industrial hemp as their top priority to study before the 2020 legislative session after Noem vetoed the bill legalizing industrial hemp in March. The House voted to override Noem's veto, but the override fell short in the Senate, leaving the state to wait another year.
