South Dakota Legislative Panel Defeats Texting and Driving Ban - 1 remains

The South Dakota battle between two proposed texting while driving bans has come to an end.

The House Transportation Committee voted 8-4 Thursday to defeat the Senate version of the ban. It would have made texting while driving a petty offence with a $100 fine.

Supporters of the measure say they should pass both bills to ensure that some form succeeds.
