These on-line social networks are rapidly becoming a part of everyday life in South Dakota’s public school districts, where employees may comment in conversations to each other, their family, or friends that they dislike their students or supervisors, or disagree with certain school practices. Scott's presentation, Facebook Firings: Social Media & Free Speech for School Employees, will examine how the courts have applied First Amendment principles to these various types of social media cases.
