Did You Really Post That?! How Social Media Can Impact Your South Dakota Divorce

Social media has become a part of everyday life. We can learn virtually everything about a person from their Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Snapchat accounts. This also means that during a divorce case, your spouse can check your social media accounts.

We advise our clients –

  •  Don't put anything on social media related to your case;
  •  Be aware that your spouse or your spouse's attorney will likely review your social media activity; and
  •  Keep your social media activity to a minimum.

Expect that you will have to provide access to all of your social media activity, so don't post anything that you do not want others to see on your Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Snapchat accounts.
