According to the Awaken Justice website, "TAST exists to end human trafficking through embracing students, empowering them to raise awareness of trafficking, and educating them on this injustice." According to the US Department of State, the United States is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, transgender individuals, and children—both U.S. citizens and foreign nationals—subjected to sex trafficking and forced labor.
