State Schools Trying Their Best to Keep New Teachers

Kevin White, Wylie Scalise and Marty Petersen are new teachers at Alcester-Hudson High School, and you could say, the high school school needed them more than they needed the school.

"We started advertising for the high school, and soon found out there was not a lot of applicants out there," said Tim Rhead, Alcester-Hudson Schools Superintendent. Applicants for teachers is what Rhead is referring to. The high school has 12 new teachers out of 15. The starting salary is 31,000 dollars, and that's not sitting well with some in the job market.
