South Dakota Farmland Values Up 23 Percent

Iowa farmland values climbed 8.7 percent last year, a new report shows, but demand is beginning to soften.

Farm Credit Services of America said Iowa farmland values climbed to $9,863 an acre last year, $786 more than in 2012.

Farmland values in Nebraska climbed 0.2 percent to $6,320 an acre last year, and South Dakota values were up 23 percent to $5,800 an acre.
